Can linux run as a live usb? on ps2?

Hey guys.

I know that even now its somewhat hard to install linux, but how about starting on Live USB? Any ways to do this?

Ive heard people say u cant but there is live cd linux and netbsd for dreamcast, so i dont see why not. Im sry i wouldnt know how to though

shouldn't be too hard.

damn small linux is 2.4 kernel based and can run off usb. so ps2 linux also should.

i've been using 2.6 for too long, so i don't really remember how to find out where your usb is mapped on 2.4 kernel with devfs.

You're right, shouldn't be hard at all. If a PC can do it, a PS2 should be able to do it no prob. It's too bad about the whole 2.4/2.6 thing, if they hadn't changed the entire kernel between the two, you would probably have it all coded and ported by now. Shucks.

yea, my Sega Dreamcast can run kive linux and netbsd and it has 200mhz processor and 16mb ram i believe vs PS2 300mhz main processor and 32MB ram
