There's absolutely nothing I can do to help you if you don't provide an error message. (Except perhaps: Did you copy the System folder? It won't work without the System folder.)

I've tested it on my 1.5 firmware PSP, too (I have two PSPs). I downloaded the file from http://www.luaplayer.org unzipped it, plugged in the USB cable to my PC and copied the luaplayer% and luaplyer folder from my Windows XP system with file explorer and looks like it works for most people, but I'm sure there must be something different on your process how to copy the files. How much space is left on your memory stick? This is the file list for 1.5:

Code: Select all

the read me file says this

When LuaPlayer starts up, it will look for a script to load in the following locations, and in the following order:
./luaplayer/script.lua

./luaplayer/[Application bundle or package]/script.lua
./luaplayer/System/system.lua

I think there are some problems with your files on memory stick. Try this program:

http://www.luaplayer.org/LuaPlayer_v0.1 ... ware15.zip

It is the same as the original Lua Player, but if it can't find the startup script, it writes all filenames to filelist.txt in the luaplayer directory. Perhaps there are problems with case sensitivity with Windows 98, please post the filelist.txt, if the error occur.

ok, that's fine for you, but this doesn't help all the other people out there who have Windows 98, only, or other strange operating systems. If possible, please execute the 0.10.2 version on your Windows 98 system (I don't have one) and send me the filelist.txt.

appologies for bringing up an old thread - anyhow, the reasoning for win98 having an issue is quite obvious... the long file name issue which affects both "Applications" and "Minesweeper"...

sam2u22000 didn't sent me the filelist.txt from the 0.10.2 program version, so I can't fix it, but I don't think it is the long file name, because Windows 98 supports long filenames, as you can see in "program files" and on memory stick the Luaplayer directory name itself is longer than 8 characters before the dot. Probably there are problems with the case sensitivity.

i switched back to my 32mb MS (cause my 2gb one brings me lots of CRC errors --> send it to sony :( )
well i put lp10 onto it
started it, and it told me that there is no script file...
just recopied all the files over to ms and it worked fine

dunno why that happened but it did (maybe i forgot a file on fist time?)
just wanted to let you know (seems like the same errormessage as he got it)

I have a windows 98SE OS and I am fully willing to help with anything I can do.

After copying LUA player 0.10.2 to my PSPs memory stick, I ran it on the PSP and it generated the file below. I think this is the file Shine is talking about, if not, please give me proper (not dumbed down) instructions.

Thanks. Looks like long filenames are no problem and I assumed correctly that it is a problem with case sensitivity. Please try the new version:

I just tried the new one that you posted and it opened right up into lowser(?). I haven't had much of a chance to mess around with it, but it works now, and I get farther than I did before. Thank you for a version that works for us windows 98 users.

If needed I can test any more versions.

Again, THANK YOU!!!

Yes, that's right. If you don't want to start lowser, but just one game, copy the index.lua or script.lua as "script.lua" and all game files to the same directory, where the EBOOT.PBP is and the game starts immediatly, when you start Lua Player.
