UK PSP Devs Rejoice! Never worry about bricking again!

First post in a long while, bear with me!
Firmware modding doesn't actually void your warranty (AFAIK), and now if you buy mint hardware at GAME, from mid march GAME (EB to yanklanders) is offering extended warranties! 3 years of free repairs.
I'm not sure but bricking is usually unrepairable, however, all you need to do is buy a new extended warranty, priced less than a PSP game, its worth it rather than spending the £149.99.
Is any company doing something similar in the US?
- Edit, the policy covers accidental. For bricking you could say:
'Power supply failed during system update, system would not boot' :D
