PDF Files - Any Suggestions

Post by Bob535 »

I saw bookr but it always crashes after 4-5 pages, are there any other PDF programs that will not crash when attempting to read 50MB+ pdf files. ( I assume this would require the program to load and unload each page )

Well, I suppose it can have problems with files larger than 20mb due to limitations of the PSP's system memory (32mb). Might be very possible that this is the problem. Of course, many of the new PDFs out there are also PDF 7 format, which has compression and encryption, which I don't think it supports.

I've so far used it mostly with documents that I printed to PDF Creator 0.8 ...

I tried cutting the file down in half, then half again, then half again. Got it down so it was only 10 pages and only a couple of megabytes, still crashes.

Maybe you should try to convert the documents to an older version of the pdf format. I think I've seen apps that do that.

I had problems with bookr crashing a lot too. I used PDF version converter (http://www.nicepdf.com/products.html) to convert my PDF to version 1.0. The PDF still crashed sometimes, but only when I used fastscroll.

I think the readme has a clause where is says that fastscroll can make it crash, never happend to me though...

Best regards!

didnt work strait over. Will try a couple of size reduction/version reduction combos to see if I can get something working.

Yeah, the readme says it's unstable but it works fine with most docs imo.
