It's a good fake, but fake none-the-less.
If it is real, it will hit GameSpot, IGN, etc within 24 hours.

Heh that's definetely a hex edit.

Count the letters. (including spaces)

Beta Update 2.00
XUpdate ver 1.50
XMonkey Island 1

x= space

See? it's like my hex edit with my monkey game.

Seems it didn't fit correctly thats why PSP is stuck with BETA :P
Nice try.

I've made a 1.60 version too.

Use my SFO editor and you won't need to hex edit. =) Also you can make a title of any length.

Has another firmware update been confirmed, or does the Korean psps come with firmware version 1.5 ?

I want to say they come with 1.50, but everything else says otherwise.

1.50 has no Korean text (so it wouldn't sell too well in Korea then, would it??).

Also, the marking on the Network UMD is not the 'game' 'music' 'movie' or 'photo' icon, but something different.
This can mean 2 things: either the Korean PSP firmware has this 5th catgegory in the XMB (the PSP menu), or this 5th category is in 1.5, but only appears when the Networking UMD is inserted. Or of course, they may have new firmware AND the 5th thing only shows when the UMD is in.

Although I've heard no news about which version it shows, I think they have 1.55 or 1.60

I don't think the korean one is just the straight forward 1.5 firmware. There are a couple of differences that I've seen from screenshots. On this page There are 3 screen shots near the bottom. The first one shows it with the system settings menu highlighted but the usb option is right above it where photo settings should be. Also in the second one there appears to be 2 extra menus under "About PSP". Also does anyone what that menu says un About PSP I know the second word is "Memory" but it's too blurry to see the first one. At first i just thought it was a slight change in menu ordering much like the O and X change for US and Jap versions but there is no menu selection that looks like the one on the second shot.
