http://www.broadq.com/en/product_tour.php#media_player

----------------

If the hardware of ps2 does not support h264, as this is possible here: http://www.broadq.com/en/product_tour.php#media_player

Or the reason of this software is this never to be ready and so far I did not obtain to receive a copy, after diverse attempts in contacting the company.

Some of you already had obtained to make streaming of video in ps2linux? Using as serving vlc, windows it measured, etc?

Yes, I think about who does not have dvds of the RTE and module LIBSD.IRX to apply patch, but in compensation another game has this module of some and can use.

Necessary to test if this it would function, if we could apply in the module alternative.

Necessary to confirm, but I believe that without the modules of the RTE, nobody it will obtain to use linux in slim.
Thanks for the superb idea! I tried 4 different pairs of libsd.irx and sdrdrv.irx from 4 different games. The oldest game, SSX, worked for sound on my version 9 and 15. You must remember to rename LIBSD.IRX to libsd.irx (lowercase) and same for SDRDRV.IRX to sdrdrv.irx before placing in mc0:\kloader folder.

So SSX, which is a game made in 2000, before the November 2001 dated LIBSD.IRX from the RTE, works fine as a replacement. This game is found cheaply on ebay. However, when I tried to patch the LIBSD.IRX from SSX, I found the code at e60 and e70, but the fix did not work (probably due to the different location). I am now running (and playing music in xmms) on a version 15 Slim PSTwo with the libsd.irx and sdrdrv.irx modules from the PS2 Game SSX using my PS2-Linux over SMB from my NAS device.

I am willing to bet that SSX is not the only game with a working pair of sound modules. The other 3 games I tested which would lockup PS2-Linux upon reaching X-Windows had newer dates on the modules than the Nov. 2001 RTE modules. I think that modules from BEFORE Nov. 2001 might work from other games, but have not tested.

Mega Man - Do you have the SSX game or can you explain how to patch the SSX libsd.irx or other other game libsd.irx modules? This might make sound WITH usb keyboard/mouse capability for version 14+ more attainable to users.

My ps2-linux distro has mplayer using SDL for audio working for youtube videos (.flv) pretty good, even streaming from the internet on my PS2-Linux on FAT PS2 with hdd, but H264 seems to be too much for the PS2 to handle with my compiled-from-source mplayer program. You can play the H264 video but it is very choppy if it views at all.

------------------------------

I have the SSX here, I go to try the modules as soon as will be able.

For what I tested yesterday, to have linux in slim, we only need "sbois.bin" , " libsd.irx" , " sdrdrv.irx" e " config.txt" in mc0, the correct one?

I am with some pairs of modules of some games and go here to test of most popular.

-----------------------

To use the pair of modules you are placing in mc0 or is only necessary qualifies them in " config.txt"?

The "sbios.bin" it is generated from " pbpx_995.09" , it has as generates it or to get it of another form?

------------------

Some of you already had tried to go up an image raw of hd made way dd command instead of a partition ext2?

This would not facilitate to the one creation live compact disc?

To use the pair of modules you are placing in mc0 or is only necessary qualifies them in " config.txt"?
Both libsd.irx and sdrdrv.irx must be lowercase and must be in mc0:\kloader directory. Then you must choose them from the "modules" section of kloader under "configuration" or by editing config.txt.
The "sbios.bin" it is generated from " pbpx_995.09" , it has as generates it or to get it of another form?
I don't know any other way to get sbios.bin than with kloader. Maybe someone else on the forum knows? This is needed for use of DTV modes without pink-tint.

I am just guessing on the early date being more likely to work. The SSX files are dated 8/21/2000. Referencing these two files worked the same as the ones from the RTE except I don't know how to patch them to make USB work on v14+ Slim PSTwo. It would be neat to try new modules and check to see if USB works. You can tell when a module is non-working when it boots up and gets stuck right as X-Windows is starting.

I have created a loop file raw image using dd which I mount over SMB from my NAS device or Windows PC. Internal to the loop file the filesystem is ext3. It works great. This is what I suggest that people use on the PSTwo Slim - ps2.nuclearfall.com.

I am now mounting the PS2SMB share which is also used for open ps2 loader thanks to jimmikaelkael at psx-scene.com. So I can play game backups or PS2-Linux with the same setup. With a short cross-over network cable to the Slim PSTwo, it is exactly like having an attached hard drive (but slower than the FAT PS2 IDE interface).

You don't even need a keyboard as it has a virtual keyboard and allows you to use the gamepad as a mouse. However, I like using a keyboard/mouse so I am interested in patching libsd.irx.
This would not facilitate to the one creation live compact disc?
While kloader supports the DVD-Video format (like SMS uses with a stub TS_VIDEO directory and data files), PS2-Linux only supports reading original game discs from the DVD drive. There might be a way to workaround this, but I don't know how.

Quais as novidades presentes no "vmlinux_fat_and_slim_v3.gz"?

---------------

Which the new features gifts in " vmlinux_fat_and_slim_v3.gz"?

Tomorrow I will test libsd with patch and rank the result.

It knew that the game " Pirates Caribbean 3" he has some corrected modules and they do not give problem in " USB Advance" , maybe also has modules to use in the sound of ps2linux for slim of who not to apply patch and it will not have rte.

Which the new features gifts in " vmlinux_fat_and_slim_v3.gz"?
This new version of ps2-linux kernel allows ps2fs access, which means you can mount native PS2 hdd partitions from ps2-llinux like _common, _boot, and +MYPS2.

Version 2 allows mounting the memory cards and accessing all directories instead of just the BWLINUX directory.

I don't have Pirates of the Carribean 3, but am definitely interested in your tests.

The sbios from RTE is needed only for correct DTV viewing. Since I do not have a DTV, I cannot properly test. How would you extract the sbios to test?

Finalmente, consegui testar o patch.

A situação do som é a seguinte no meu slim SCPH-90006 (v17/v18):

Libsd.irx (com patch) + Sddrv.irx funcionando perfeitamente, mesmo sem o "sbios.bin" no mc0.

Parabéns pessoal!

----
Finally, I obtained to test patch.

The situation of the sound is following in mine slim SCPH-90006 (v17/v18):

Libsd.irx (with patch) + Sddrv.irx functioning perfectly, exactly without " sbios.bin" in mc0.

Personal congratulations!

I have that to use version 2 or 3 of vmlinux_fat_and_slim in accordance with my necessity or version 3 also contemplates the improvements of version 2?

Which the reason of the partition ext2 to be formatted with 128 inodes?

----------------------

Installing version 7 was very good. It would only like that we pudessemos to jump the part of the particionamento of the record or pendrive and extration of the archives bz2, since in mine in case that I make way PC.

Which libsd.irx? RTE or SSX or other game?

I want to try the new openwrt PS2-Linux next. I have only used the PS2-Linux from the official kit and Blackrhino. I like Blackrhino better for a base for my modifications.
I have that to use version 2 or 3 of vmlinux_fat_and_slim in accordance with my necessity or version 3 also contemplates the improvements of version 2?
Version 3 allows mounting ULaunchELF-formatted partitions in PS2-Linux. This is very useful to me for sharing access to media files on the FAT PS2 HDD between SMS and PS2-Linux by storing these files on ULaunchELF-formatted partitions.
Which the reason of the partition ext2 to be formatted with 128 inodes?
I don't understand this question - 128 inodes is related to the size of the partition, which is different for each person's installation.

This question did not translate completely. Can you ask differently? EDIT - Maybe you mean to ask how to skip the partitioning section of the installer. You can do this by pressing the enter key at the installation prompt where it asks for type of installation - u, h, or i, to drop to the bash shell where you can manually mount the usb drive and extract the archives.

On the 128 inodes, I thought that play2 would be something related to the 128 bits it and it would not be a formation standard. I discovered that it can be 128 or 256 inodes, independent of being ext2 or ext3.

To function the sound in mine slim V17/V18 I used libsd.irx of rte with patch.

I am testing others 45 pairs of modules.

Sorry the problems in the translation, I will try to give a skill in this.

SBIOS: MCSERV old version 0x00000101.
SBIOS: mcInit() result 0.
sbios_rpc: RPC failed, func=208 result=-1
ps2rm: failed to initialize rm
sbios_rpc: RPC failed, func=213 result=-1
ps2rm: failed to initialize rm2
ps2rm: failed to initialize remocon device
sbios_rpc: RPC failed, func=191 result=-1

ps2sysconf: can't open osd, res=0 stat=0x80279d3c

keyboard.c: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 273
keyboard.c: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 272
I also have these errors. I believe the func=xxx corresponds to the sbios call. You can find this in kernelloader under the configuration menu at the bottom, sbios calls. Use the right d-pad button to tab down the list.
208 = SBR_REMOCON_INIT (remote control init)
213 = SBR_REMOCON2_INIT (remote control 2 init)
191 = SBR_CDVD_OPENCONFIG

Thanks for the list. Very interesting to see the same libsd.irx in Action Replay. I'm on to more testing.

The LIBSD.IRX and SDRDRV.IRX from the PS2 Game SSX work the same as the RTE versions with the renaming of both modules to lowercase, hexedit of libsd.irx as in this post:

http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?p=85984#85984

EXCEPT change the edited locations to E60, E70, and EC0 instead of D70, D80, and DD0.

I am using the SSX modules on my version 15 PS2 with both sound and usb keyboard/mouse using my SMB PS2-Linux.

The PS2 SSX game is very common and cheap on ebay. In the US you can get it for less than $10 US which includes shipping. I am pretty satisfied with this solution as it is cheap and does removes the requirement for RTE for all except DTV. I need to find out more about the SBIOS and how it works so that I can investigate the DTV issue further.

The SSX modules give users a very cheap and easy to acquire option to run PS2-Linux on version 9+ PS2s with all features (except DTV pink tint problem) with no need for the RTE.

Yes, I had perceived that they were present in the config.txt of kloader, but what I make, I can disactivate these functions?

(tamanho, data e checksun).

No libsd presente no NetFront Bronwser a localização é E80, E90 e EE0. Já no EGBrowser é E40, E50 e EA0.

------------------------

Which the version of its game SSX? I have it but I did not obtain to extract the modules.

You can order the details to me of libsd and sdrdrv? (so great, he dates and checksun).

In libsd.irx present in the NetFront Bronwser the localization is E80, E90 and EE0. No longer EGBrowser is E40, E50 and EA0.

---------------

It would like to add some packages, but in the hour of it compels them, it lacks gawk and mine ps2 constraint.

Also I do not obtain to open a applicatory one more than at the same time, I do not obtain to twirl firefox.

I would to compile in the PC and to order for ps2?

-----

My SSX must be the 3, therefore all the archives date of 2005 and in the folder of modules only one called archive exists " moudules.viv."

Its SSX must be the 2.
