Disk Read Error help needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had a PS2 for about 2 years now and it has recently been giving me the disk read error sign whenever i want to play. I have opened it up and cleaned the whole thing including the lens (because my warrenty expired). It still omes up with disk read error. I have looked on the internet and found some stuff where it is possible to change the height and angle of the lense on the earlier models, but mine is the SCPH 50004 Model which came later. does anyone know what I can do to solve this disk read error without having to send it back to sony to fix.

You can buy a replacement laser assembly and fix it yourself.
