solution to play PS3 on a PC monitor or VGA Projector?

Post by JesusXP »

Anyone know of a solution to play PS3 on a PC monitor or VGA Projector?

I bought a Monster HDMI -> DVI converter which did not do the trick. And also another brand named one that is for sale along side PS3 accessories at BestBuy.

There was a VGA box from Team Xecutor or Xtender they claimed would be sold soon but has had no release information since and no reply to my emails about the product. I thought it may have been addressed in a patch as well but that hasn't been the case.

If you just want 640x480 (unlikely) you can do it without much special hardware.
Goto display options, SCART connector, RGB colors,s 480p. The signal given out the AV Multi port is now Sync-on-green VGA (ala PS2linux).
You can now either build a ps2linux vga cable yourself or use one you already have.
But it's only 640x480 (or whatever widescreen 480p is too), so it's not great :)
