Play NES games on a ps2

Post by bobiboucher »

Hi, I would like to know if someone could make a version of Nestopia for the playstation 2 console. Like with SnesStation, made from snes9x for pc, it would allow to use roms files on a ps2.

It would be really useful and would make huge publicity for your site if you put it on bittorrent. Nestopia is an opensource and it's actually the best NES emulator. An emulator for NES means that thousand of old nes games would now be playable on a PS2.

Source of Nestopia (C++) (pc):
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=83320

SNES emulator for PS2:
http://snes-station.gamebase.ca/index.htm

Thanks

Nestopia is a very accurate NES emulator. It definately is one of the best.

Unfortunately it is also for this reason that it would most likely not work well on the PS2. It trades speed for accuracy, and the PS2 doesn't have much speed available for the general purpose computing emulation requires.

Imbnes doesn't work with the swap magic, you need a modchip to use it.

can you load it via the memory card exploit? just pop it on your mc if you can.
Remember, for all your psp dev needs you could do worse than pspdev.org ;)

Read carefuly what I said about that specific emulator, not NES emulation in general.

Thanks but there are only two: Imbnes that doesn't work without a chip and PS2InfoNES that is:

"very incomplete & buggy .

This still has the crappy compatibility of InfoNES that can cause it to freeze your system if it has a problem with the game you're playing.

hint: mute sound or don't jump in mario );"

:'-(

At least is there a way I could use ImbNES without modchip? I have only swap magic.
