xVM Server

Post by Oobles »

Hi,

Has anyone had experience with anything like open source Virtual Machine server solutions? I'm wondering, if I added a couple more gig of memory to the ps2dev.org server I could host a couple of VMs for Apache, etc. This could make it easier for people to participate in the up-keep of the server and allow more playing around with new and different other software.

Thoughts? Worth while pursueing or just another wild idea that won't go anywhere? :)

I do have a spare HP DL360 server sitting around that could be used for testing out some configurations.

I use kvm and libvirt for virtualization and have been very happy with it. I can help with any setup if you'd like.
