Yes. The remote control contains a microcontroller of some sort (can't tell exactly which sort as it's covered in black plastic, as per tradition :), so one of the pins will definitely be a power feed to drive it. Actually, it's 6 pins, not 3. The ones on the bottom are distinct from the ones on the top.

Yup, it's true. Cool, now you never have to wonder what month it is anymore. :-)

Btw, the promo-shots of the PSP seem to have been taken during August last year, because they have the dark blue background colour you get for August.

Looking around at various press releases we can see that the PSP supports two types of encryption: MagicGate and 128bit AES.
