So make sure your tasks don't use more than 256kb of ram, i'm sure jbit was talking about MB, i'd suggest you to rather fit into 200mb. Nope, I meant 256kb, as in the size of the SPUs local store.. but yes you should make sure your resources fit in the PS3s main RAM too :) My point about designing ...

I would highly recommend doing any tech demos on the PC rather than on PS3Linux. PS3Linux has limited GPU access, so you'll either need to use an existing software rasterizer (such as MESA), which are very slow. Or custom make a software rasterizer, and while that's fun and potentially fast it seems...

Of course, you could just email one of the SDK maintainers the patch file, but the problem with that is most of us are busy so it'll stick around in our inbox for a few months. The nice thing about having the patches in the forums is people can apply them if they really-absolutely need the fix right...

http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/casual-connect-sony-on-developing-for-an-open-ps2-platform/?biz=1 Seems to go into much more detail... Bain reports that there is no cost to become a licensed developer, but dev kits do cost. In some cases, Sony lends dev kits. Bain told his audience that if t...

Re: Getting into PS2 dev
All that has changed is you can have a third party press the discs for you instead of Sony. I doubt this applies to the homebrew toolkit as Sony still doesn't make any other method of running the app than an official, protected disc. Do you have a source for this? The only information I've seen is ...

Odd, then, that Sony employee Geoff Levand would state on IRC then that it was unintentional broken in the FW update. But hating on Sony is obviously so much fun... Who cares about facts! I don't think it's a mistake. Not even a little bit. Higher Sony ranks decided officialy (between them) to shut...

If the GS is setup to use a guard band then the top left can be [2048-(width/2), 2048-(height/2)]. So on a 640x512 screen (PAL) the top left will be 1728, 1792 This is so if you move a primitive off the screen to the top/left your values don't go below zero, then the GS can still actually attempt to...

There is no magic recipe for it, every reverse engineering project is different, most breakthroughs in re...
