Compile and install libTremor. Don't use libogg and libvorbis, they are way too slow. Reconfigure and recompile SDL_mixer once libTremor is installed.

You need to update Newlib as it's way old. Then move the -lSDL_mixer library before the SDL libraries since it depends on them (same for SDL_image).

Hmm, no, I don't know which revision of PSPGL dot_blank was using when it did work for him. The revision before 1543 definitely doesn't work.

Can you try the samples in PSPGL's test/ directory with the latest PSPGL in SVN? rRootage also seems to be busted (it just hangs), and as far as we can tell, it happened after the code in pspgl_ge_init.c was updated. I've tried to make it as close to sceGuInit()'s GE init as possible, but now there ...

rRootage for PSP v1.3: Tried to make PSPGL's initialization code more compatible with 2.0 PSPs. Hopefully this release works under 2.0. If you had previously tried it on 2.0 and it crashed, you should reinstall rRootage from the v1.3 .zip. Any feedback appreciated.

Ok, Zenurb, you've made your point. The noise level is a bit too high in this thread, so please stay on topic. Back on topic... From what I understand, the only thing that prevents this exploit from fully working on 2.60 is that the list of syscalls hasn't been mapped for 2.60 yet. Developers should...

I don't think the code in pspgl_ge_init() is the same as Holger's original version. In your implementation, you set the registers which are "lazy", so they aren't written until all pending changes are flushed. For starters, you don't set the ge_reg_touched bitmap for the registers in the i...

If you only intend to do homebrew on your PSP, then there is absolutely no reason for you to ever upgrade it. The language setting is in the System Settings menu. After powering on the PSP, scroll all the way to the left, scroll down twice, and hit Circle (the menu looks like a PSP with a wrench). S...

Yeah, I've just confirmed it. If I comment out the list transfer and leave in the call, it crashes as before. If I comment out the sceGeSetCallback() call and leave in the list it works just fine.

Holger's original PSPGL did not set a GE callback, and it worked fine on 1.0 PSPs. However, he did initialize the GE (pspgl_ge_init()) by sending a list similiar to the one used in sceGuInit().

I've figured out a workaround to the hang: calling sceGuInit() at the top of my test program gets rid of the issues. The only thing sceGuInit() does is send a GE list and setup the GE callbacks (which do nothing if you don't use them). So it seems either that full init sequence must be sent to the G...

I'm being bit by similar hangs and crashes using PSPGL (the latest in SVN) on a 1.0 PSP. I just checked in support for PSPGL in SDL. J.F., rinco: Help Wanted would have to be specifically for PS2 and PSP projects, IMO. There are many other boards with established Help Wanted sections, such as gamasutra.com and gamedev.net .
