What I find ironic is that after all the hoo-hah early on about the 'jpeg exploit' never going to work, that in the end this is what shoehorned unsigned code into 2.0. Yes, I realise that it is a different kind of jpeg exploit (bufer overflow), but it's still pretty humorous. As for geting it into k...

Be on the lookout for a stolen PSP in the UK

Got mugged yesterday (14/6/05), and my PSP was nicked. It's a JAP model PSP, fw version 1.5, it'll probably still have a sandisk 1gb gaming card in there. Might have Metal Gear Acid, Wipeout:pure and Lumines (all US) along with it, all in an aero case. Probably somewhere in the chingford/woodford/lo...

Try looking for a serial number on the LCD itself, and googling that. There might be a whitepaper for it floating about.

i would save alot of trouble by just using pspwebbrowser.com or fugimax's portal... but theres alot out there.... so... yeah The big plus with running Moops is that you can run server-side stuff, like a winamp controller. Anything you can control with a HTML page, you can stick in moops and control...

Post a pic of the wires. I'm not yet willing to cut up my own headphones (and certainly not my beloved e2Cs!) but a closer look might give us some clues. Have you used a multimeter to check whether the braided sheath or the core is conductive (test from the plug to the cut for continuity). The core ...

We have the ability to go from psp to computer and computer to psp. I dont see why we cant go from psp to psp or psp to computer to psp. Because PSP <-> Computer utilises the built in USB connectivity (i.e. the one provided by Sony themselves as part of the PSP firmware). No-one has coded (as far a...

Re: Program for psp's to communicate

I am interested in making a program for 2 psp's i would need help because my programing skills are feeble but im full of ideas. We have pleanty of ideas. If ideas were all that's needed, then we'd already be running linux and streaming DVDs onto our PSPs, or running full 3d accelerated homebrew gam...

okay, by that order of ideias, a UMD Reader *should* read MDisks beacuse a DVD can read CD's (a samaller wavelenght can read a bigger one) or this is only possible in cd's and dvd's? DVD drives that can read CDs use a specially modulated laser, or a different laser entirely. Unless the UMD drive wa...

Well, yes, but does anyone know WHY that's the case?
There are two variants of magicgate: The one which works with atrac3 files and sonicstage, and the one implemented on the PRO duo cards.

Yes it does: It means that so far NO-ONE has been able to read UMDs other than using a PSP directly. No it doesn't. Read the original posting very carefully, and with respect to your last comment, read my first posting in this thread. In fact, please just read. But it DID relate to Gorim's comment,...

If you intend to put some kind os streming support into this, might I suggest videolan ? Then you've dealt with DVD re-encoding already, with it being done before it even gets to the PSP, as well as any other video (or audio) filetype you might want to play. (plus the videolan client is already runn...

To spoof it, you'd probably need to observe normal NESPOT data flow for a while. So unles you've got a snoooper in korea that can help you. you'd just be blindly flinging data at the PSP hoping to get some kind of response (for the non-HTML standard parts, that is)

Most cable/broadband companies only issue one ip address. i.e. they only connect one mac address (one device, be that a computer, or a router/gateway).

Anyway, I'll try a firmware update when i get some spare time, and maybe pester linksys on why DNS isn't redirecting.

No, my Linksys is the gateway too, not just the router (but not the modem itself). That's; PSP -> Linksys BEFW11S4 -> Cable modem -> Internet the cable modem has not configuration, and is just a standard modem (i.e. only assigns one ip and one mac address). Not quite sure what's going on here... ::E...

The swap method sounds promising. Is there an image format for memory sticks (as ISOs are to CDs)? IF you could make sure the entire contents of a memory stick are exactly the same except for the EBOOT.PSP, then you could use a simple switch (well, maybe not simple. It'd have to be high-speed and wi...

We could use the firmware dump, but then the files wouldn't be in a compliant PSAR (though we might be able to pack them ourselves), and we may not have all the files (read thread here)

I doubt the THUG image loader will be exploitable. All it (probably, this is just logical conjecture) does is move an image from the memory stick to the PSP's main memory, then onto the display. No encryption or unencryption needed.

I severly doubt the unencrypted jpeg would be encrypted just so it can be stored in memory. Msot likely it would just be shunted straight from the Memory Stick to the PSP's memory, then displayed. No encryption needed.
