I forget, why is it again that you are unable to use the normal interrupts? Does the PS2 Slim do something different with them to make them incompatible? Do you have any idea why the USB bottlenecks?

@peterdcrees

That is fantastic news! The less I use of that SwapMagic DVD, the better I would feel.

What sort of patching would be needed?

@MegaMan

Do you mean once the live CD is created? You said none exists just yet.

@whig

Hmm It seems I have accidently overlooked your post. Yeah, I use free mcboot for stuff, but I still use SwapMagic to boot my backed up games. I have yet to have found a way to run my backed up games without it.

SwapMagic is what I used to install freemcboot intially.

@MegaMan That is quite interesting. My slim silver ps2 is not modded, it uses that swap magic software to run copied ps2 games and homebrew software. It works quite well, actually. The only thing that worries me is if I do not take care of the swap magic disc itself, then I would have to purchase an...

Well, I have good news and bad news... The good news is this: http://i35.tinypic.com/35aqg5y.jpg I finally managed to get it to work! I sort of figured out what the hell was causing me such pain with installing properly, and no, it wasn't the graphics issue. There is something amuck with the USB dri...

Ok, I see what I did. I imaged the files to the drive, but then I copied the old ps2linux directory over the one that was from the image you gave me. I started over to use the pslinux directory from the image, but that one won't even boot from kernel loader. First, it wanted to load all the files fr...

just to give you an update, I may not have waited long enough, but nothing seems to be happening. I will be more than happy to wait for this, so long as you tell me how I am supposed to put that image on the thumb drive. My ultimate goal is to turn this ps2 into a VERY simple webserver. I am quite sure it is possible, since the network is working. I assume there are other things that are needed,...
