OpenCL

Applied edits to xlc_install file, which must be named xlc_install, and all the OpenCL examples worked. The julia_ocl --ps3 must have more than 4M of frame buffer memory.
BlackScholes and Perin-noise also worked using the default settings.

I had some problems running the julia example, whether I use the --ps3 switch or not. I have IBM SDK 3.1 installed on YDL 6.2 with IBM XLC-SSC 0.9 from SDK 3.0. The julia example compiles without error but running it, it complains about an incompatible kernel in the src directory.

spe-medialib 0.1

Got a little further. I noticed that the linker was warning that "powerpc: common64 architecture of input file XXX.eo.o was incompatible with powerpc: common output" this is caused by a mismatch of 64bit and 32bit binaries. I solved it by link -s /usr/bin/ppu32-embedspu /usr/bin/spu-embeds...

Meas 7.5 with Gallium3D or DirectFB

There is a new version of Mesa 7.5 with Gallium3D and an improved cell driver available, http://mesa3d.org/relnotes-7.5.html. Also there has been some work on a cell driver for DirectFB at code.google.com/p/ouros. Perhaps someone could check these out and indicate how close we are to accelerated vid...

Multicore Application Runtime System openSSL

Kazunori Asayma at Sony gave some additional help in getting openSSL engine to run OpenSSL and openssl-devel must be compiled with share for dynamic engine support. Openssl 0.9.8b has a bug which causes the cfb1 mode to fail. Download openssl-0.9.8h.tar.gz and unzip it. Download openssl-cell-engine-...
