Sumo game

Post by officiallypoor »

I started working on my first LUA and psp game today, I call it Sumo.

I have a lot left to do, such as:
~AI (if possible)
~collision system (to make the squares bounce apart when they hit)
~Scoring system (the scores in the picture are just placeholders)
~I cant get the game to recognize that it is out of bounds

If you would like to help please email me at officiallypoor [at] gmail.com or reach me using google talk(same adress)

update

UPDATE: I got it to know when your out of bounds, and set up a basic scoring system. The scoring system has a few problems:

it adds about 20 points per second. So now i need help making it only add 1 point per time out of bounds, and maybe a way to reset it back to its position.
still no advancements on AI, it might turn out to be 2 player for the first version.

Update 2

Post by officiallypoor »

UPDATE 2: http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sumo21pl.jpg
Everything completed except AI (has been canceled for this release), and I still havent figured out how to make the squares bounce back when they collide(been trying all night, email me if you have an idea officiallypoor [at] gmail.com). I added a few things:
  • Control speed with triggers
  • Now control both squares
  • Scoring system works now
  • takes you back to start when you fall off 'mat'
  • put cool sumo clipart guys
  • shows coordinates for both squares ( handy when editing)

Well, its getting close to release time. Once I figure out the square collision thing i will release the first version. After that i will release the 'Sumo Engine' : )
