possibilites with network update

wipeout pure can go online because of the update thing
the psp has a network update too can u go online with just the psp then?

They made a browser for Wipeout so you can acces pages of their update system and the Sony one is automatic. So you will need Wipeout Pure to browse web on the PSP for now.
