Are the disks inside the umds and mini disks the same size without the outercovers on them? if they are can't u open the disks case and swap the disks?

and then what? MD and UMD are entirely different formats. and MDs are a lot larger than UMDs.

it might work just to play music not for movies because u can write to the disks with a hi-md player

it won't. as I said, MDs are physically larger, and the PSP doesn't support MD or MP2 at all.
