Oh No.. My dodgy DNS setup has been spotted again. So who will be a reliable DNS secondary to fix this up?

I haven't done much about it, because I figured if the primary dns was unavailable, so was the site. But its been something I'd like to fix for quite a while.

thanks for the link. I've registered and setup the secondary. Will take a day or so for them to refresh the zone.. and then another day for me to delegate. But should be finally fixed soon.

Just wondering, has anybody else been having troubles with resolving http://forums.ps2dev.org?

Occasionally it won't resolve for me, nothing drastic, a few refreshes or a minute or two will do the trick, but its just getting to be one of those niggling things..

It could be me (and most likely is...) since it only really happens at home but still, this is the only site i get it with ... Anyone?
Im not enough of a network guru to figure if its me, my isp (optus adsl, .au) or something else...

well i'll be off then..

This thoroughly explains why I have been having occasional
host not found problems resolving ps2dev forums et al.

The thing is, a primary DNS server does not get all of the hits. A
secondary server will receive equal requests due to load balancing。

In a situation where the cached DNS response from the primary
server expires, there is a high likelyhood that the next query for
ps2dev will be sent to the secondary server which will fail.

So, the moral of the story, keep your DNS info straight. :)
