PSP DIC Files

Post by minddog »

I was doing some exploring of the firmware and decided to run strings through a couple files. I'm getting many laughs from this. Check it out. Might have something to do with the browser, indicating integration with the firmware goes a little deeper then one might think.

These files can be found at /dic/*.dic on the firmware.

Check out these links...
http://blackacid.org/~minddog/apotp.dic.dump
http://blackacid.org/~minddog/atokp.dic.dump
http://blackacid.org/~minddog/aux0.dic.dump
http://blackacid.org/~minddog/aux1.dic.dump
http://blackacid.org/~minddog/aux2.dic.dump
http://blackacid.org/~minddog/aux3.dic.dump

EDIT: I took the links down for being extra cautious. The thin line of legality.

Can you explain what these text strings are??
... are they plaintext strings that you found in a dump of the firmware???...

Interesting find... dictionary files of some sort? Maybe they are just test files for a coming dictionary feature.

Its the encryption keys! lol

This may be proof that there will be a WP and stuff like the leak had.. Makes ya really wonder then too that maybe ALL the browser is there too..

I had figured those would be dictionary files, but its good to see that there will be a spell check..
