Best Encoding Settings?

Can someone please post the overall "best" encoding settings so far? By "best", I mean something that looks nice, but doesn't take too long (something around 2 passes, perhaps), and can be used to fit 2 hours of footage on a 1GB stick.

Nice MS benchmarks! What I would like to see is a comparison between a SanDisk 1GB PRO Duo (what I have) versus the SanDisk Ultra II (more expensive) PRO Duo. FFMPEG did work, but it seems odd that Goldwave/BeSweet encoded files give me errors. I have been encoding them to 44.100 kHz @ 128 kbps (stereo) and I get errors, so low bitrate may not be the problem. I've had problems with two different source files BTW.

I'm having a little trouble with audio. I had an mkv file, so I demuxed it to avi and aac. I XviD'D the avi with virtual dub, but the aac is killing me. Doesn't matter what background you use, I got the same result.
And you have to reload the month to get rid of a white screen sometimes - choose July, choose it again, keep doing that and you will get white - background -white - background, even in 1.50.

It wouldn't annoy many. Those that have 1.5+ anyway would install it, and those with 1.00 would make a homebrew browser eventually. Sony just needs to allow homebrew.

Well seeing as how the SFO MUST PERFECTLY match something in either the PSP or PSAR files or both, this might work....

*note on the sensitivity of sfo files: I edited the one from the 1.51 update so it said the parental level was 2, re-packaged it, ran it on a 1.50 PSP, got an error.

Wow.. we might be getting somewhere... Rather than word, it might be better to open it up in a hex editor or something (I'm no expert, though...) and then see if there are any bytes which do important things.

Exactly. A UMD can choose to have a self-boot sequence or not. It's just that Sony requires(?) that games have that self-boot data in them. Take out that data, and no self-boot.
